Messy Santa With Lyra AquaColours

Hi all here’s a little workshop using

lyra water colours with the

 new messy rabbit stamp

So here`s the workshop

messy 1

First stamped in versafine smokey grey ink on water colour paper
then used a very weak blue no= 43

You can hardly see it to colour in the ears face and feet
then went in once it was dry with terry harrison shadow to add depth
all the layers are gradually built up

messy 2Here I used no=91 for coat hat and trousers , once these are all dry
you can use heat gun or hair dryer if you want it like yesterday to dry .

You can now start getting the depth into image by using more of same colour so its more paint…….. this will add more pigment to you first mix and give you a stronger colour and putting it in places you think will be darker

messy3 Here are the list of colours to complete the image
for nose and feet no=26  , sack no=83 and 87 done in different layers
belt no = 99 with lots of water , buttons and buckle in no =09

cheeks is a mix of no=84 and=26 mixed together equal parts
sky in no = 43 this was done right at the end once all shading has been done on image and work is completely dry

As you don`t want colours to run out of image ,with clean water go around edge of image , then while wet drop in colour you will see it spread out you can go back into this once dry to move paint around to give more graded effect if thats what you want by just adding clean water

The shadows under messy are done with the shadow colour from Terry Harrison

Hope you will have a go  – love linda xx
