Mega Nestibilities Pop Out Card – WORKSHOP

Today I thought i`d add the pop out card workshop just so you get some extra tips in how I did it – only through my mistakes!!!!

The finished card

10p2

And the pop out inside – this time with the edges moved in slightly and then edged in gold

9p2

1 First take 2 book style pages – click here for workshop if you missed how to do the larger style page need for this effect – this design is done using the  Mega nestibilities curved rectangle die

Place a smaller die at the half way score point and I have secured with some tape – best to use low tack tape if you have it ( I didn`t so used DST – but made sure it was on the back so that any marks made when I remove it wouldn`t be seen )

Also make sure the smaller die will fit inside the card when it has both sides score for the pop out part

11p

2 Now place this onto your white wizard emboss mat – I have then used a magnetic mat , then the die and card followed by the white cut mat

Then cut out your shape

Click here for workshop on how to cut & emboss if you are new to this

22p1

3 You`ll be left with the hole in the middle – now fold each side into the middle – now here is my mistake – if you do it like this because of the curved edges  the centre pop out fold will be seem when you open the card

That is why I set back the edges so this didn`t happen and it make a feature of the 2 tone edge

33p

4 So how to do it easier is to make sure the straight edge comes inside of the curved outer edge – this way when you add the pieces together you can have them matched up

If in doubt do it on a scrap piece of paper – but all will be clear when you did it

44p25 This is just a different shot from the other project and just shows how the pop out part isn`t seen if done this way

5

5p3

6 So now you have your 2 pieces – one with just the centre scored and the other the prepared bit you have just done

66p

7 Now for the backing insert – I have used a scrap piece of backing paper and folded it in half – this doesn`t reach right the way across but it doesn`t matter and will help as if you had the paper all the way across you would see it under edges – this way it will just be under the piece that is stuck down

Cut the piece out

77p

8 Now attach it to the single scored card – the back

This workshop would help if you haven`t done a pop out card before and show you how to stick the pop out part to the card  – click here

88p

9 Then take the pop out card and place on over the backing paper onto the base – again the workshop from the pop out card will help

Sorry to add the link but I try not to go over workshops I have done technique in the past – and many with have done pop out cards before and know how this part works

99p1

10 Mat and layer more panels onto the front of the card – and here I have added a fuchsia fro the Jayne Netley Mayhew cd

1010p1

11 Just a close up of the flower

11p1

So I hope this has given you some ideas – it`s a sweet size card and looks effective – when sometimes that`s all you need in a card to show off a small amount of decoupage or topper

I have added a separate section for all the Nestibilities projects

click here for the new section

There is also one on Cosmic Shimmers
