Tall Pop Out Card

Following on from yesterday`s workshop today`s will show you how to make the tall pop out card

In this workshop i`m sorry but I have used gold card as I didn`t have any of the white as shown and it doesn`t show the embossing at all well but you can get the idea more from this picture below

This design was made to show of the Christine Coleman stamp and the outer part of the frame was used to make the pop out shape to the tall card

1. You will need your card stock A4 and backing sheets – this design is from the fashion cd – then embellishment to finish with some flowers and ribbon as well

2. Score both the inner and outer card down the centre – on a score board this would be half A5 mark

3. Then score your inner sheet again each side at would be the gatefold A5 point – without trying to confuse you as some card can vary in size but I sometimes trim a fraction off the inner sheet so that it doesn`t protrude outside of the card once it`s shut

Please remember this should have been white card – When scoring I always score on the top too – it gives a nice finish

4. Take your frame stamp and it is easier to mark your acrylic block to where the centre of the stamp is – top and bottom that way you can get the frame 100% right top and bottom – line up this stamp leaving about an inch from the bottom and likewise the same on the top frame

5. I stamp with versamark and then use halo embossing powder – once you have done that heat set the powder

6. follow the inside line of the frame and mark out using pencil your rectangle which you will cut out to form the pop out

7. now cut both the shapes out

8. (Sorry photo blurred) – lay your backing paper under the pop out so you can see where you want the design to fall – best to have the ladies starting from the middle

9. Now cut the backing paper so it fit half way up and the whole width of the card – I have chosen to different colours as they co-ordinate well together

To attach them to the card apply double sided tape to the 2 outer edges of the backing paper and place one down to the edge of the card and now remove the other piece of tape from the other side and shout the card flat this will make sure the backing paper doesn`t pull when opened

10. Place your DST on the 2 outer edges of the back of the pop out card

11. Place one edge first to one side and then remove the second piece of tape and place that to the other side of the card – this is you basic part of the tall card complete – ready for you now to decorate the card – using the vellum frame workshop for the front of the card

please have a look at the advise page just over a week to get your hands on the card and goodies and have you query answered too !!!
