I`ve had a busy week – I was producing some wedding invitaion samples

for Joanna Sheen`s forthcoming show

and it got me wanting to start up my wedding stationery idea again

( only 7 years again did I first try !!!! )

 although I am limited with time

I thought it would be nice to have a site where I could add to it as and

when I have time as I do miss producing my little workshops / you tube ones

It`s all helpful for me to learn more about computers too as I am limited in my skills !!!

I printed off the pages with the view to make a cracker & a matching box to be given as an

anniversary gift – the brief being CELEBRATIONS

Well I had just finished a workshop the day before on how to make this star card.

The idea first seen by `Playwithpaper` on Joanna`s craft forum

I wrote & asked Sue if it was ok for me to use the idea and I just loved the new fold so I changed my mind

& went for this anniversary card instead.

In our family with just adore plants and often give them as gifts as the evoke so many memories of different people.

One of mine & my husbands favourite plants is the `Love in a mist ` – so I was thrilled to see it as a backing paper on the New

Jane Shasky – from the heart of the garden cd rom

The idea behind the card is to have room to add a little gift

in the middle space – it was ideal for some seeds , so I made a little packet  for hubby to grow

Although it`s a bit girly with the trim it also fits the bill as it`s for an anniversary card

& blue is his favourite colour

So here is the finish card

This style card means there are lots of space to add the backing papers too

& shows the packet of seeds with the message behind the seeds

The centre panel is using the `love in a mist` image – some peeled paint distress ink has been used to

cover the white edge left on the topper

The card folds up so nicely to create a lovely different card shape with the gift inside

Little embellishments have been used from the cd to add detail and make the

 project very personal too

I thought i`d make a card / gift for my first

Joanna Sheen blog challenge piece

It was 6 years ago since I started using Joanna`s cd`s to make a cracker for the family table

I sent Joanna a photo of the big cracker and after a few  e-mails I was asked if I would make some samples for a pending show, I was overjoyed as I knew nothing of the design team or about sample making and I am happy to say I have produced samples every month there after

I adore getting new products and seeing what everyone comes up with and I was delighted to be asked to join the new Joanna Sheen Blog Challenge – Thank you

So here is my first piece 

 a Gatefold Easel Card

complete with a draw with some Mulled Wine bags

It was inspired by a sample I made for the Enchanted Dreams show

click here for the piece and there is a worksheet on how to make the gatefold easel card – I will post how the base is made in due course

Often you don`t see friends  very much throughout the year and the idea was to bring a

bit of cheer to their family & they can make the mulled wine up for themselves

So all the images come from the

New `from the heart of the Garden ` cd

Which I have to say is my all time ever favourite cd

& i`m not just saying that, I adore it as i`m sure you will

Here some hitch fasteners have been added to the gatefold card to

add a feature to the front of the design

The easel part of the card is just raised up & tucked behind the topper

& then the gatefold sides are opened out to show the decoupaged image

& then little sentiment boxes have been used to add to the top of the mulled bag – a little something for the person who is receiving it to enjoy

I hope you have enjoyed this first challenge piece as I really enjoyed making it

To say life has been hectic is an understatement

 I have had to be very focused what with my sample work for Joanna Sheen , my workshops for Creative Expressions & my 2 nights working back at Tescos – all of which I enjoy and wouldn`t change for the world

Anyhow I thought i`d post this workshop I did to support the sample I made for the new

It`s a stunning cd and so useful for Men`s card

 but also great for all ages as the images just have that lovely feel of days gone by
