I keep all the tones the same , peachy and greens using Promarkers on stardream card  . I stamped and embossed in gold and also decoupaged the flower heads too

 and also used a lovely backing paper from the  new

RHS Cd Collection

and just for a change I used the paper roses to finish the design !!!

Well just had to add this one as I was thrilled how this ended up – didn`t start out to be this design but love it all the same – joys of crafting going with the flow

The backing papers are from the RHS Collection Cd 

& the stamp is one of my favourites as it`s my birth flower

It has been coloured just using different shades of grey promarkers - lots of Promarker information here if needed

The backing paper squares are 5cm wide and believe the black tapestry card mounts are 6cm – all finished on a backing paper mount and teal organza ribbon and flora doodle to tone

Many congratulations on a wonderful company and to all the wonderful staff that make it a joy to work for – here`s to many many more years of JS Ltd

The flora doodles were coloured with Promarkers to co-ordinate with the flower in the image – even the green centre

Here`s a selection for today and will post some more soon as there are lots of stamp ones too

I loved the effect of printing on Parchment for this cd as it just gave a lovely feel to the cards too

Many items you`ll already have in your crafting kit, but here`s what was used to make this card

Sharon Duncan`s Beautiful Butterflies CD Rom

Stardream Card

Scoring Board & Ball Tool

Organza Ribbon or Satin Ribbon

Promarker Pen

Tassels, Paper Roses

Martha Stewart Doiley Lace Punch

Ruler, Pinflair Gel Glue, Double sided Tape & Foam Tape

Pointy Long Tweezers

Guillotine & Craft Mat

 Part 1 – as on You Tube

Step 1

Print image from cd along with the backing sheet, and if required the bookmark page

Take your stardream card and score at the tri fold line to make a DL fold and trim off the excess

Step 2

Punch the backing paper with the punch along the side edge and then trim to size so you get a panel and then punch the other side

Step 3

Using organza ribbon or colour some satin ribbon with Promarkers and attach around the back of the backing sheet, apply the foam tape to the back and attach to the card

Step 4

Tie the ribbon into a bow or trim ribbon down, apply 3 paper roses using your gel glue and place a matted topper onto the right hand side of the card with foam tape

 Part 2 – as on You Tube

Step 1

Take the reminding backing paper and draw around your envelope moving the edge in slightly and trim your liner – Trim the length as well so it fits nicely in the envelope  , ease the envelope shut folding the liner down inside and with double sided tape attach the liner to the envelope

Step 2

 Print and cut out your bookmark, printing on the reverse or sticking backing paper to the reverse, make a hole and place a tassel to finish the bookmark off

Step 3

Use the butterflies from the bookmark page to embellish envelope and you can use the backing paper to make a matching insert too

Well after feeling rough for a few days I finally got to play with a few of bits I couldn`t leave behind at the Ally Pally show I had just been too

It was my first time of going there , as I had never been as I thought the journey would be bad driving but caught a coach that went through my village and dropped us off at the entrance

The place was so light and airy and not to big , and even got to watch the many demo`s that were going on , and I didn`t know Sheena Douglass was going to be there so it was fantastic to meet her and watch her do her stuff as well as watching her replenish the distress inks pads that were flying off the stand

 and loved meeting up with friends at palm court – so a fantastic day all round

So one good thing about not feeling 100% – it gets my mind in gear and I wanted to play and make something other than the STUNNING bracelets and watches as I love a product to have many uses – so up came the idea a craft top organizer

I painted the grungeboard with cosmic shimmer glitter paint – then stamped in black with the swirl stamp and then again using the gold embossing powder – I loved the effect that some of the powder went onto the black too

Then I tried different ways to glue and fix the board into cylinders but it wasn`t playing ball even with the gel glue so I thought why not use brads but then you would see them inside – which would be ok if you covered them up – so here came the idea of the hitch fasteners then came into there own as the are neat from the inside and also give a design feature to the piece

To attach the shapes to the base board I just used a piece of grey card I inked up and draw a circle around the shapes where they were going to be place and then with the pinflair gel glue went over the line and placed the cylinders on top – job done – just need to fill them now

I am going to do a single one – brighter colours , so i`ll post as and when

 Now for the reason for posting as I was handed this piece of grungeboard to the right of the picture – it was a piece Sheena showed on her demo about how to make a bigger watch strap and I said i`d add it along side the watch demo I had already done

So measure your watch strap size – I have used the same size as per demo 1.25″ width and cut of 2 full lengths

Measure in 8mm from both sides and then the long piece is 28mm – angle of mark at 9mm on both edges to form the angle and you will have the shape below

Widths will vary with different watch strap sizes – but it will give you an idea of the shape – why not cut this out on a scrap piece of card to make sure you don`t waste an grungeboard

Cut the piece out and then use this piece as a template for the 2nd piece – this will ensure it is a matching piece 

 Once you have the shape of the 2 straps ink and colour your 2 pieces- I have used distress ink pad `old paper` and `vintage photo` too and used the calligraphy stamp in black ink to give a nice feel for a mans watch

So attach your hitch fastener as you would in the main watch demo  

I have just stamped a little amount on the reverse as this will be shown when the piece is bent over – I have inked it slightly darker to give a contrast

 I have also made this additional small length just to cover over the middle section – but it is just something I thought of whilst playing

when you place the hitch fastener through just attach this piece underneath and it will lay nice a flat across the wrist

Now do the same to the other side , making saw you have the required bend over the wrist that is needed

So here is the watch without the backing piece ( please note this watch has no batteries as it`s always showing 10am on all the demos !!! – will get some soon- promise )

then finish your watch ends off to the required length that fits you

And here it is again with the backing piece added

Now for the other that inspired me at the show – someone had made a bookmark – and I love this idea – whilst you have the grungeboard to make bracelet why not make a few presents with this lovely gift idea

This was a full length piece of the grungeboard and the width cut to 1.75″ with the tassel ends being cut with a craft knife of a length of 1.5″

It has been inked and stamped in the same way as the watch

Here it is showing the 2 pieces  would make for a lovely addition together as a gift idea

STUNNING stamps and backing paper – love the design Linda

Following the launch of HOOT today it`s wonderful to be adding this piece by Linda Hill the clever artist behind HOOT

and promarker pens

…………. first i stamped in versafine smokey grey left to dry list of colours are over all the owl body coloured useng sand stone this helped to dull the colours

Then went over in mustard darker detail was done in cinnamon and raw sienna beak and claws in umber cheeks just a touch of salmon pink

Branch and leaves forest green and leaf green then over the top of branch with mustard and cinnamon eyes tea green and tiny bit right in corner of each eye in soft green outline shade in tea green

Been having a look for some photo`s which sadly i`m feeling have been lost – but came across this workshop I did for the Messy Rabbit backing paper pad

It`s an easy way to add some dimension to your work and later in this piece you`ll see how it works well with decoupage too

So here is Messy Rabbit Christmas card  

A close up showing the acetate behind the window and also the sparkle on the ledges

1 .So take the backing paper pad sheet and  cut out the panels in the window and also the fence so you are left with the shapes below

 2. Cut done the right hand side and top and bottom of the door way

 3. Attach the panel below to a piece of acetate - I have used a tape pen for this as it is less of a fiddle. Make sure you less at least 2cms blank on the left hand side as this will form the tab for the card

 4. Now trim the excess acetate off along the bottom of the panel

 5. and again leave a 2cm tab down the right hand side

 6. Score and fold the tab over – this will be placed behind the card when it`s all put together to secure the bevelled acetate in place

 7. Take another backing paper and cut about a 1cm off the left hand edge – this will help marry the design up below when the acetate is bevelled over it 

The mount the whole sheet onto a base card for strengthening – you will end up with a bevelled piece and a flat design too

8. Secure the tab under the left hand side – I have left it on top so you can see when the tab should be and then bevelled the design and stick down the edge onto the right hand side , just past the door

9. Attach the rest of the pieces of decoupage and glitter the ledges and roof

Then add a Messy Rabbit to the piece and find as required
