Today`s workshop is really part 3 of the triple embossing set I have done – just a different way of adding the backing – but the workshop also shows how to make this fun card from the Baby Love cd
The other workshops on embossing are here
Oriental stampbord piece & Embossed frame using card
1. So firstly print your design off – I use the snapshot tool ( instructions on the cd ) and copy and paste the image onto a plain word document and this makes it slightly larger – this way you can have 2 or 3 images the same as you will need for this project – I have used 3
It is just printed on normal setting – using rey text paper form staples
REMEMBER to always save your resized work encase you need to print another sheet off as it`s hard to get the exact size again – taken from experience !!!!!
2. So using 2 sheets cut both the rectangles out – the cat on with take of part of the duck , but that is needed
3. Importantly take some thick card – this is mount board ( I got a large pack of off cuts for £1 from the local art shop – so might be worth a visit !!! )
Apply the 3mm red tape to the back of the image – this tape takes heat so is fine to use for this job , then stick both of the pieces onto the board – I find it`s best to butt them up to the corners and edge so you only have to cut 2 edges
Cut both pieces out and then triple emboss the pieces - workshop with more info here if you need it
4. So now you have your 2 embossed pieces
5. The idea will be to place the duck upright over the landscape cat – but we`ll do this in a moment
6. Decoupage some of the animals – this is where you might need that 3rd sheet
7. This card has been done on an A3 sheet but you can make a smaller version – just works better for seeing on tv – that`s why we make them so big
I have matted some of the backing paper onto the onyx stardream card and then the whole image too – at the bottom of the card I have placed a row of the decoupaged animals and have left one of the 2 cats free for later – all layers are on foam tape
8. Place the first cat tile onto the topper – I have used silicone as the piece is heavy – then on the second piece I have added a thin layer to the end with the duck on and blobs of silicone at the middle to the bottom of the piece – this will take into consideration of the other tile
9. So now place that piece done
10. This shows the 2 levels of the embossed pieces
11. To finish I have added an organza bow , this matches the bow on the cat . I have the added the decoupaged cat too – this is your card complete
Thanks for sharing in today`s card
Suzanne
